Delve into Queenstown’s nightlife at any one of the bars to rehydrate and get a taste of local fine wine and killer cocktails—a night out in Queenstown is great fun and you’ll meet travellers and locals from around the world any night of the week!

Settle in for the evening at a cosy wine bar or a friendly pub, or gear up and go bar-hopping in central Queenstown, discovering the best and busiest clubs on the way. Queenstown bars and clubs often have live music and DJs as well as great drink specials. There are more than 150 bars, restaurants and cafes, fine local wine and a buzzing nightlife to keep you entertained.

Bars & Clubs- Queenstown is not known as the party capital of New Zealand for nothing! There are numerous bars in town, some themed, some popular with locals, some classic backpacker haunts and of course many of them stay open very late so you can get down on the dancefloor! Some of the top ones are The World Bar, Church Lane, Winnies, Searle Lane and 1876. If you are interested in some nice clubs to let your hair down then you can go to Cowboys, Zephyr, Loco Cantina and Vinyl Underground here. These places are absolute fun, but often very busy, so you might have to queue to get in!

Ice Bars- Queenstown has not one but two ice bars, Minus 5° and Below Zero. Possibly not that surprising considering Queenstown is a ski resort. Both bars offer furniture and sculptures made out of ice and your drinks will be served in ice glasses too. Don’t worry, you won’t get too cold, they provide warm clothing and there’s a time limit on how long you can stay in the ice bar itself.

Kiwi Crawl– Kiwi Crawl offers something slightly different. As well as a standard bar crawl you might choose to go on their ‘Creepy Crawl’ which includes entry into Fear Factory! Or go on a party cruise on the lake! Discounted drinks, food, treats and more all available as well as the chance to win prizes from some of Queenstown’s best adventure activities. Pro tip: keep your eyes peeled for specials and themed nights.

Kiwi Haka – Experience the stunning Maori Cultural Show at Skyline Queenstown. There are 4 shows each night which includes traditional song and dance, a poi display and an up close and personal live haka. You could even combine the live haka show with a meal at the Skyline Restaurant and a return gondola ride as well.

Fear Factory – If you’re really looking to do something different then try scaring out yourself at Fear Factory. Over 15,000 people have chickened out so far, will you be brave enough? Try to find out!

Hot Pools Onsen – A spa with a view! Treat your senses to this amazing experience. Open up your spa room doors for the most fabulous views while relaxing in a hot pool!

Night Bungy – Do the 47 metres ledge bungy at night! You’ll have to take the gondola up there. Night Bungy’s are not always available, so please contact them beforehand.

Lake Cruise – Go back in time and dine and cruise on a steamship. They also have a pianist on board so get ready to sing along.

Go Karting – get a few mates together and go Go Karting! You’ll have to drive or get a taxi to Frankton, but who doesn’t like go karting?

Cinema – Always a good option when you don’t feel like drinking, head to the cinema! Go on ‘Terrific Tuesday’ of every week when an adult ticket is $12.50 rather than the usual $16.70. Reading Cinemas is located in the Mall.
