LOCAL BUS
A small local bus service with three routes run by Connectabus connects many Queenstown attractions like Arrowhead and Camp Street with each other. There is even a night bus running on weekends between O’Connell shopping mall and Frankton, Arrowtown and Kelvin Heights.
CABS
Queenstown attractions can easily be accessed by one of several private taxi operators like Queenstown Taxis and Green Cabs. While they are a comfortable alternative to buses while sightseeing in Queenstown, they are a little expensive. Note, calling for taxis is usually faster than waiting at a taxi stand.
RENTAL
A self-drive rental car is a good way to access Queenstown tourist places. Mostly located at the airport, there are several agencies like Avis, Thrifty, Omega, Budget and Ace that provide vehicles on rent. Mountain and regular bikes can be picked up for hire at numerous outlets within the city.
ON FOOT
Walking is a good way to get around and do sightseeing in Queenstown as the town is not very large. The most well known attractions are the surrounding hills, ski slopes and lakes providing for an absolute haven for people into outdoor activities and trekking. There are a few local groups organising trekking expeditions too, be sure to check out the local websites.
