Johannesburg International Mozart Festival
The festival takes place in the month of January on Mozart’s anniversary. The ambition and desire is to invite people from all backgrounds and ages to join in and be united in the enjoyment and celebration of music. The Johannesburg International Mozart Festival provides a unique combination of classical performances on the highest international level with a keenly intelligent and creative approach to programming and an enterprising portfolio of all-encompassing education and outreach projects for children, students and audiences of all corners of society.
Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge
Attracting over 30,000 cyclists, this popular event is suitable for both young and old. All those taking part are encouraged to do so for a purpose, whether it be to raise funds for a charity, to honour the memory of a loved one or just in support of a good cause. Spectators are encouraged to line the sidewalks of the closed roads and cheer on these passionate cyclists.
RMB WineX
More than 150 exhibitors representing a myriad of big brand names, boutique wineries, wine routes, imported stemware, charcuterie and cheeses, olives and olive oils, designer coolers and storage systems take part at PMB WineX. Up to 800 wines, fine brandy and Cape Port available for tasting and purchase through Shop@Show. Table Talk Pop-Up tastings and roundtable discussions with the winemakers and food-on-the-move deli meals from Mastrantonio.
Bierfest Johannesburg
This is South Africa’s biggest beer festival, which is housed in a 4,000 seater Bavarian Brauhaus adorned with authentic decor. The lovely frauleins here will deliver fistfuls of frothing bier and mouth-watering Bavarian food such as bratwurst sausage and giant pretzels. Enjoy the Oompah band, lots of competitions and fantastic prizes as well as Bier Pong – the sport of Bierfest.
JOburg Wine Show
Taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, the Joburg Wine Show is the fastest growing wine show in South Africa with over 130 wine estates to taste and buy from. Come and learn about the art of wine-making, or learn about food and wine pairing in the Friends for Dinner Theatre. The show offers a fun and relaxed way of enjoying the rich wine culture in South Africa with plenty to do.
Joburg Art Fair
The Joburg Art Fair will showcase the largest selection of contemporary African art in one fair. The fair will take place in the Sandton Convention Centre with various galleries, art books, and special projects taking place to interest and inspire. It has become a meeting place for those interested in African contemporary art. The Joburg Art Fair is a small, boutique Fair committed to showcasing the best galleries interested in this region. The fair is the only art fair on the African continent and brings together a variety of art-lovers showcasing African contemporary art.
