HOTEL
The majority of Berlin’s top tourist attractions are located in the Mitte and Charlottenburg neighborhoods, making these ideal areas to stay in for sightseeing. The top choice for many is the Mitte district for its plethora of historic sites and museums, including Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, the Reichstag, Berlin Cathedral Church, and iconic plazas like Gendarmenmarkt. Charlottenburg sits just to the east and is dominated by the Tiergarten and Zoological Garden complex, a good place for those who want to stay outside the bustle of a busy tourist city. South of this area is the even quieter Schoneberg neighborhood, which is known for its Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Museum. Here, you can find good budget options that are still located within walking distance of the Zoological Gardens, which is also a major public transportation hub with quick access to the Mitte attractions.

COST OF LIVING
The cost of living in Berlin is a lot cheaper compared to other European cities. Rent of course varies depending on if you’re sharing and also the location. A 60sqm place with a living room and bedroom in Prenzlauer Berg could be anywhere from 600 – 800 Euros per month Berlin is by far the cheapest capital city in Western Europe, so it’s a great place for budget-minded backpackers and anyone wanting a great deal. Berlin has world-class museums, cheap food, crazy nightlife, and affordable accommodation.
