Koshary is a dish made of rice, macaroni, and lentils and topped with chickpeas, onion, and a special tomato-vinegar sauce. Other popular ones are Shawarma, falafel and in desserts Baklava (crushed nuts baked between layers of filo dough and topped with a sweet syrup called sharbat), Basboosa, Knafa. Best places to eat out and make merry are Sequoia which gives chic and trendy feels. Then there is Abou El-Sid which is straight out of the Arabian Nights. Abou El-Sid is very popular.
