Epiphany
Held on 6 January, the Epiphany is traditionally celebrated with a parade of the Three Kings. The parade begins at the Milan Cathedral and ends at the Church Sant’Eustorgio. On 6 January witch “Befana” comes to children and brings small gifts and candy.

Carnival Ambrosiano

Milan Marathon StraMilano

Easter
While Good Friday is a normal working day in Italy, Easter Sunday, “Pasqua Santa” will be celebrated with a good meal or a trip in family with picnic. On this day all the shops are closed and lunch in a restaurant should you pre-ordered. The Easter Monday Pasquetta is also a holiday. Some shops are open again. Initiatives are taking place in many museums.
Milano City Marathon
The international marathon leads through the whole downtown Milan, beginning from the new Fiera Rho to the city center. Usually the day is a car-free Sunday, so runners and spectators can move freely.
Milan Furniture Fair
In April the Milan Furniture Fair “Salone internazionale del Mobile” takes place as the most important trade fair for furniture and furnishings around the world. In Milan are set the trends and standards for the living area.
Apart from the official furniture fair, the “Fuorisalone” has become established. In several districts, distributed over the whole city, events, exhibitions, concerts and design shows take place.
Millemiglia
The traditional classic car race from Brescia to Rome and back has been taken place every year since 1927 in May and is organized by the Automobile Club Italia.
Milano-Sanremo
Every year in June takes place the cycling classic Milano – Sanremo, a cycling race over 300 km for that also non-professionals are permitted.
Grand Prix of Italy
Every year in September the Italian Grand Prix (Gran Premio d’Italia) of the Formula 1 takes place in the Park in Monza.
MITO Milano Torino Music Festival
A festival of classical and contemporary music from Milan to Turin. It hosts many events distributed over the two cities, some of it with free entry.
Holiday St. Ambrose 7 December
This holiday of the patron saint Ambrose only exists in Milan. The surrounding area is business day. Most shops are open in the Christmas shopping fever. On the evening of the celebration day of St. Ambrose the new season of La Scala opens. Tickets for the premiere go mostly to celebrities from politics, economy and culture.
Christmas Markets in Milan
